Lee Elson began his post doctoral career as a planetary atmospheric scientist at the Jet Propulsion Lab. After spending several years developing numerical models for the atmosphere of Venus, the focus of his work switched to the stratosphere of the earth. His expertise and interest center on the use of data to validate models and he has considerable experience using numerical techniques. In 1996, he again changed the focus of his work to the development of software for scientific visualization, becoming the Principal Investigator for WebWinds. He has authored more than 50 scientific papers.
